Presto ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Presto mobile application and website at prestoapp.io (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Service.

1. Information We Collect

• Account information – name, email address, and password when you register.
• Location data – precise GPS location while you are clocked in to a project, including while the app is in the background. See Section 3 for full details.
• Photos and files – images and documents you upload to projects, tickets, or inspections.
• Time and activity data – clock-in/out timestamps, work session duration, and motion data used to detect active work periods.
• Device information – device type, operating system version, and push notification token.
• Usage data – pages visited, actions taken, and feature interactions within the app.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Provide and operate the Service, including project management, time tracking, and team collaboration features.
• Record and verify work sessions, clock-in/out events, and job-site attendance for your employer or project owner.
• Display real-time team locations on the project activity map to project administrators.
• Send push notifications about project updates, messages, and time-sensitive alerts.
• Improve the reliability and performance of the Service.
• Comply with legal obligations.

3. Background Location

Presto collects your device's location continuously in the background while you are clocked in to a work session, including when the app is minimized or your screen is off. This data is used to:

• Record a GPS log of your work session for payroll verification and job-site compliance.
• Show your current location to project administrators on the live team map.
• Automatically detect when you arrive at or depart a job site.

Background location collection begins only when you clock in and stops immediately when you clock out. Location data is never collected outside of an active work session.

You may revoke location permission at any time in your device settings. Doing so will prevent background tracking but may limit time-tracking and attendance features.

4. Camera and Photos

Presto requests camera access to allow you to take and upload photos directly to project files, work orders, and inspections. Photos are stored securely and are accessible only to members of the relevant project.

5. Push Notifications

We send push notifications to alert you to project updates, new messages, and time-sensitive events. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings or within the app under Notification Settings.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in the following circumstances:

• Project administrators – your work session data, location history, and uploaded files are visible to the administrator(s) of projects you are a member of.
• Service providers – we use Amazon Web Services (S3) for file storage and Firebase (Google) for push notifications. These providers process data only as necessary to operate the Service.
• Legal requirements – we may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account and work session data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at the address below. Location history tied to closed work sessions is retained for up to 12 months for payroll and compliance purposes.

8. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption in transit and encrypted storage at rest. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or an in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
